Choose and three (3) Choice Board activities that is in a Tic-Tac-Toe Direction that totals 90
Points. (“Four Corners” does not qualify.)
1. Creating a BLOG. See pg.30 in the Collections Textbook. Mrs. Neal is also available to
assist you with this activity. Also see “How to Create a Blog Using Weebly.” at

Complete the Grammar Tutorials on sentence fragments and sentence run-ons and
complete the handouts. See the teacher.

This is a Newspaper Book Report. It has 12 steps that has to be completed. It
resembles the “One-Pager” activity, but it is a collection of activities, See the teacher for
a copy of the written Instructions as to how this should be done.Time Magazine for
Kids or Newspapers (USA Today, Plain Dealer) are suggested.

Film a Newscast with you as the reporter/anchor. The newscast should be recorded as
a movie and a script should be used. It can be created using I-Movie , Animoto, etc.
View newscast from the various television stations to see how this broadcast should
look. Dress the part.

Research and type a one to two page report on a woman in aviation. Be sure to
consult “Write Smart” in your textbook (p.50) and include a bibliography page that lists
your research sources.

First locate a current event in the World today and along with another student create
arguments and counter-arguments and perform a Debate in the classroom. The other
student must argue the “other side”. Use index cards to record your claims and
supporting reasons. They can be used during the debate. Please check with the
teacher the time when to have the debate.
9.
Create a Newsletter(one page-the front page) that will consist of articles and
pictures/graphics about one of the Informational text stories in Collections 1. Use of
templates are encouraged. Please be creative and grammatically correct.
