Course Description:
This is third quarter of Chinese language course for beginners. It will teach the standard Chinese
language-Mandarin,
approaching to basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. During the course you
will learn how to
speak, write, and read in this language, using the everyday simplified characters used in Mainland
China. The most
widely used Chinese phonetic system-Pinyin will be still used as a tool. Students will also learn
Chinese characters in
order to be able to communicate effectively in real Chinese situations. Approximately 200 words and
expressions in
both Pinyin and characters will be taught .The course will be vivid with information on Chinese
culture which will
promote an understanding of China and its civilization course.
