7th grade Web quest for the diary of Anne frank and Night INTRODUCTION Imagine that you are able to step back in time - back to a time of a great tragedy. What would life be like for someone living during the Holocaust? Did it matter what kind of education you had? Where were you allowed to shop? What would you wear? What would you do for entertainment: go to the movies, watch television, and listen to the radio? Now, what if you could become someone other than yourself? This is your chance to be someone else, someone different, and someone apart of the Holocaust. First, you need to research the Holocaust and important Holocaust authors, Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank. Then, you will research your own character. ***Follow directions carefully. As you go to each site, read the section carefully and write down the information that is necessary to answer the questions. Task 1: Research the holocaust 1. Research one of the following topics and take notes on important details. Make sure to write down the sources that you use. Research needs to be thorough and complete! 2. Find a picture to represent this topic and print the visual. 3. Write a 6-8 sentence, informational paragraph on a separate sheet of paper about the topic that you can share with others. Task 5: Personal diary entry Create a half page diary entry (of a typical day) for your character. The entry must express their emotions of your person and their hopes/dreams. It should also include their location and the appearance of their surroundings. Make sure you include if there is anyone else around this person at this time. This diary entry can be included on the separate sheet of paper. Please label it, ‘Task 5’.
