DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES For Reference Only CLASS CODE: 3388 PAY GRADE: 424 CLASS TITLE: UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION EXECUTIVE II - SES ALLOCATION FACTOR(S) This is managerial work directing an unemployment compensation section in the Division of Unemployment Compensation. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: (Note: The examples of work as listed in this class specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Directs a staff of appeals referees and clerical employees in conducting quasi-judicial hearings of unemployment compensation claims appeals. Interprets policies, procedures, and laws to associates, subordinates, employers, attorneys, employees, claimants, and the general public. Directs the activities of determining employee eligibility for benefits paid and authorization for warrant issuance. Directs the collection of contributions, determination of employer status, and the determination of tax rates for subject employers. Directs subordinate field supervisors responsible for investigations and audits to ensure compliance with provisions of the Unemployment Compensation Law. Directs subordinate claims taking supervisors responsible for claimstaking operations to ensure compliance with provisions of the Unemployment Compensation Law. Performs related work as required.
