AS French TYPE OF QUALIFICATION AS Level LEVEL OF ENTRY 5 A*-C incl English and Maths and a B grade GCSE French METHOD OF ASSESSEMENT LENGTH OF COURSE & NUMBER OF LESSONS CYCLE 3 examinations test: Paper 1: Listening, reading and translation Written examination: 1 hour and 50 minutes 40% of the qualification 64 marks Paper 2: Written response to work, grammar and translation Written examination:1 hour and 40 minutes 30% of the qualification 48 marks Paper 3: Speaking Internally conducted and externally assessed Total assessment time: between 27 and 30 minutes, which includes a single period of 15 minutes formal preparation time 30% of the qualification 48 marks 1 year PER 6 weekly lessons What skills you will need to succeed: You will be interested in different cultures and keen to use a different language to understand and to communicate your own ideas and opinions to others on different topics and issues. You will enjoy reading, speaking, writing and listening.
