The Roman Legions
In 390 BC the Celtics defeated Rome. The legions
formed a group so they could protect Rome.
There were no girls allowed and the men could
only be 25-50 years old. Also the men had to be fit
and healthy.
The Roman Legions wore a helmet made of leather
and iron-headed javelin (when they a javelin it
bent so then the enemy could not throw it
back.)They also had woollen leggings, a knife on
their belt, metal plates, and a long wooden and
metal shield, metal leg-protector known as greave
and leather sandals.
Roman legionnaires in their spare time built
