GOAL: Trace your family back as far as you can into history. Prepare a speech and visual presentation to CELEBRATE your family’s heritage with your fellow Titans!

You will present a speech to your class - a story about you! It must be factual.

Your goal is to trace your history back as far as you can. I would like for you to find the time and place where your family lived before coming to this country. This is easier for some people than for others. Just do your best.
 Get information on both your mother and father’s sides of your family if you can .

YOU will be the detective. You will research your family’s history by reading any documents your family might have and by interviewing parents & grandparents. I suggest you interview the top 2-3 oldest people in your family.

If someone in your family has already completed a lot of genealogy research, interview him or her and read the information he or she has.
Don’t re-invent the wheel!

Feel free to call or email distant relatives to conduct interviews.

You must include visuals. It will make your speech more interesting. Examples include: current family photos, old photos, your family crest, pictures of family heirlooms,
short video clips, etc. Please include these in your Online Learning
Portfolio instead of bringing in originals.
Important Information:
You have approximately 2 weeks to complete this project.
Don’t wait until the last minute!
Speeches start Tuesday, 9-4-2012 and must be 5-10 minutes in length.
