BREEZY POINT FIGURE SKATING CLUB
MEMBERSHIP PACKET
2015-2016 Season
BPFSC POLICIES
The following policies ensure that all Club members are treated fairly and that the Club can
remain financially secure:
 All home club skaters are required to contract for a minimum of 6 ice sessions per
month. Each additional skating member of the same family will be required to
contract for a minimum of 2 sessions per month. Academy, Bridge, special clinics
may count as contracted sessions. Each skater will receive a 3 week vacation credit,
allowing for a waiver of the 6 session per month rule.
 A skater who has not skated on Club ice for more than two consecutive months (with
the exception of medical leave or prior Board approval) will be dropped from Club
membership. Reinstatement is at the discretion of the Board.
 Contracts will be emailed to Club members and placed on the website by the 25th of
the month.
 Contracts and payment are due to the Ice Coordinator or received in the Club
mailbox/Club PO Box within 5 days of the contract issue date, after which a late fee
of $35.00 will be assessed.
 Ice time is subject to change at the arena’s discretion.
 If changes are made to the skating schedule during the contracted month, credits will
be applied to the next month’s bill.
 Sessions may be cancelled if less than 6 skaters have contracted for that session.
 Ice session contract fees are not prorated for missed sessions.
 All ice session contract fees must be paid in full before a skater is allowed to register
for the coming month.
 All ice sessions must be paid in full before a skater is allowed to register for USFS
sanctioned test sessions or competitions.
 Children younger than ten years of age must have a parent or adult proxy present at
the rink during the skating session.
 Parents or family members of all Academy and Club skaters are not allowed to
remain standing at the boards or on the rink with their child during an ice session.
Those who want to watch their skaters are invited to sit in the stands or view the rink
from the lobby.
 A skating family who repeatedly does not abide by BPFSC policies may be ousted by
the Club with a majority vote from the Board of Directors.
 Rates for icetime are as follows: home club $12/hour, associate $13/hour if
contracting a minimum of 4 hours/per month, walk-on $16/hour.

BPFSC CODE OF CONDUCT
Please be prompt for all ice sessions.
Respect is to be shown toward all skaters, coaches, parents and rink personnel.
When on the ice keep moving! If you do need to stop please remain up against the
boards or in the penalty box.
Practice your skating skills when on the ice; Club ice is not for “goofing around”. Wait to
talk and socialize when you are off ice.
Skate at all times with an awareness of those around you. Skaters practicing their
programs or having a lesson always have the right of way.
Be courteous and considerate at all times. A simple “excuse me”, “sorry” or “please
move” will help keep frustrations to a minimum.
A skater who does not follow the coach’s instructions, or “talks back” will be asked to sit
in the penalty box for 5 minutes. If the behavior is repeated, the skater will be asked to
leave the ice for the remainder of the session. A refund of the ice session fee will not be
given.
Practice your spins in the middle circle of the ice as this helps avoid collisions.
When music is played skaters having a lesson take priority over those who are not.
Music cannot be replayed when others are waiting.
No food, pop, or gum is allowed on the ice. Plastic water bottles may be kept on the
boards or in the penalty box.
Exit the ice as soon as the Zamboni door opens or before the next group takes the ice.
Everyone should help keep the locker room clean.
Club members are asked to wear apparel with the BPFSC logo whenever possible.
