WINDY HILL SKATING CLUB

Greetings! The Windy Hill Skating Club’s season at the Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink in
Greenwich, CT kicks off on Friday, September 25, 2015 and the last session will be
Saturday, March 19, 2016*. The Windy Hill Skating Club (WHSC) is a member of the
US Figure Skating Association and offers Freestyle ice sessions on most Fridays and
Saturdays. Home Club members: the membership renewal application must be
returned by June 28, 2015 to ensure your continued USFS membership status which
expires on June 30, 2015. There is an 18-Session Ice Package which may be used
Fridays OR Saturdays. See the attached form for pricing; the form should be
completed and submitted with the membership application. Please note: we have
revised the Ice Policy to make it more flexible to accommodate skaters practice
schedules. You may also purchase tickets in advance for our Family Skate Night in
March via the membership form. *revised per Dorothy Hamill Rink Schedule
NEW HOME CLUB MEMBER BENEFITS!
In addition to registration with USFSA and Skating Magazine, Home Club members receive
a special discounted rate for the 18-session Ice Package (see attached form) and preferred
access to all WHSC sponsored Testing.
 HOME CLUB MEMBERSHIPS: Skaters must be a WHSC Home or Associate member
to skate on WHSC ice sessions. Please note, USFS membership year ends as of June
30th. Please complete the form included and return ASAP. If you are a Home Club
member and you have allowed your membership to lapse, you will not be allowed to
participate in TESTING OR0 WHSC ice sessions until all required paperwork/fees
have been submitted. Note: if you are planning to test this summer, it is imperative
that you renew your membership NOW in order for us to release a good standing
letter for any tests AFTER July 1, 2015.
 WHSC Test Sessions will take place in the Fall and early Spring. Dates will be posted
as soon as confirmed.
18 SESSION ICE PACKAGES VALID ON EITHER FRIDAY OR SATURDAY SESSIONS –
NOT TRANSFERABLE TO OTHER SKATERS AND NO REFUNDS.
This year we will continue to offer Subscription Ice in a 18-Session package of two-hour
discounted sessions, which may be used either Friday or Saturday. PLEASE NOTE THAT
THE SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE TO OTHER SKATERS AND NO REFUNDS
WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY UNUSED ICE TIME AT THE END OF THE SEASON.
 Payment Form must be submitted with membership and no later than Sept. 1st, to
guarantee availability.
 The first 30 minutes are NOT restricted to Moves only.

 Walk-on rate is $33 per hour or $50 per 90 minutes. Any 2 hour sessions will be
charged at $33 per hour if not purchased in advance with the 18-Session Ice
Package.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP RUN ALL FACETS OF THE CLUB
One of the best ways to support your skater and get to know the sport is to participate in
the club. If you are interested helping with Ice Monitoring, Special Activities, Publicity,
Web Site, or the Town Competition, contact Chris Abbott at mabbott1@optonline.net.
WHSC is an active supporter of the Greenwich Special Olympics. If your skater (13yrs or
older) is interested in becoming a volunteer coach to the GSO skaters, please contact Sarah

members, we are pleased that you have decided to join our club. Our website

WHSC continues to offer its Subscription Ice Policy to allow skaters more flexibility with their practice
schedules and continue to receive the best pricing offered for Windy Hill Skating Club ice sessions.
18-Session packages may be used at either a FRIDAY OR SATURDAY SESSION. Rates are based on annual
estimated ice costs and are calculated to provide up to a 28 % discounted rate over the walk on ice cost.
Ice subscriptions are not transferable to other skaters and no refunds will be given at the end of the season

Please Note: there are only 26 spaces* available on each session. Priority will be given to 18-Session Ice Package skaters. If more
than 26 skaters present at any session, spots will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. 18-Session Ice Packages are
awarded in the following order for applications received by September 1, 2015: 1. Skaters re-subscribing; 2. Greenwich resident and Home
Club member; 3.Non-Greenwich resident and Home Club member; 4. Greenwich resident and Associate Member; 5. Non-Greenwich resident
and Associate member; 6. Any late applications on a first come first serve basis, space permitting.
WALK ON ICE:
Walk on rates will be $33.00 per hour or $50.00 for 90 minutes paid at start of session. Hourly rate will
apply to any additional time added to first hour purchased. Walk on 2 hour ice time will be charged at $33
per hour if not purchased in advance with the 18 hour ice session package. Walk On payment must be
received before skater will be allowed on ice – NO EXCEPTIONS.
For the safety of the skaters and quality of the session, the maximum number of skaters permitted on WHSC Session Ice is 26; only WHSC Home Club and
Associate members will be allowed to walk on to a session. Walk Ons are generally on a first come, first served basis, and on a space available basis. For a sold
out subscription session, space is available when a subscribed skater is not present. A subscribed skater is considered not present if they do not report to the
ice monitor within the 1st 10 minutes of the start of the session. Walk on ‘reservations’ are not accepted. Regional, Sectional or National competitors will be
given preference for walk-ons in the weeks preceding these competitions.

SafeSport Statement for Membership Renewal
WINDY HILL SKATING CLUB is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for members’ physical,
emotional and social development and ensuring that it promotes an environment free of misconduct.
The following code of conduct applies to all participants in activities hosted, supported, sponsored or engaged in by U.S.
Figure Skating and the WINDY HILL SKATING CLUB including but not limited to competitions, exhibitions, training
camps and local rink activities.
I recognize that my participation or my child's in all the activities associated with U.S. Figure Skating and the WINDY
HILL SKATING CLUB is an honor and privilege that carries certain responsibilities. I agree to fully abide by the rules
and guidelines set forth by U.S. Figure Skating or its properly designated agents.
U.S. Figure Skating Member Code of Conduct GR 1.02
I recognize that my participation in all activities hosted, supported, sponsored or engaged in by U.S. Figure Skating,
including but not limited to competitions, exhibitions and training camps, is an honor and privilege that carries certain
responsibilities. I agree to fully abide by the rules and guidelines set forth by U.S. Figure Skating or its properly
designated agents. As a precondition to participation in activities hosted, supported, sponsored or engaged in by U.S.
Figure Skating, I will adhere to the following tenets in good faith:
A. I will exhibit the highest standards of fairness, ethical behavior and genuine good sportsmanship in all of my relations
with others.
B. I will not damage public or private property. I understand that I may be held financially responsible for damage
deemed to be wantonly or willfully executed on my part, and that I may be subject to disciplinary action by U.S. Figure
Skating.
C. I will not use or possess illegal drugs, and I will not engage in criminal activity. I understand that, if I am found to use
or possess illegal drugs, or if I am found to engage in any criminal activity during any activity hosted, supported,
sponsored or engaged in by U.S. Figure Skating, I may be subject to criminal penalties as well as penalties imposed by
U.S. Figure Skating.
D. I will adhere to the rules of U.S. Figure Skating and the host organization at all activities hosted, supported, sponsored
or engaged in by U.S. Figure Skating.
E. I will comply with all applicable anti-doping rules including, but not limited to, ISU and USADA anti-doping rules.
F. I will conduct myself in a manner not detrimental to the welfare of figure skating. I understand that my actions reflect
on U.S. Figure Skating and the sport of figure skating both positively and negatively. I understand that if my acts,
statements, or conduct are considered detrimental to the welfare of figure skating by the appropriate authority, I may be
subject to penalties imposed by U.S. Figure Skating pursuant to GR 1.04.
G. I understand that the penalties that may be imposed may include, but are not limited to, loss of future international
selections, loss of financial support from U.S. Figure Skating and its Memorial Fund, and loss of participation in activities
hosted, supported, sponsored or engaged in by U.S. Figure Skating.
H. I understand that all disciplinary proceedings will be conducted pursuant to Article XXV, Section 3, of the U.S. Figure
Skating bylaws, and that my rights and remedies are derived therefrom.
