1920’s Scrapbook Page

Definition of Scrapbooking= The creative art of taking books with blank pages

and adding photos, memorabilia, journaling, and decorations. The primary

purpose of scrapbooking is to preserve memories for future generations, but a secondary purpose often is to exercise your creativity as you display your memories in a scrapbook.

Task: To finish the Roaring Twenties Unit, you will have one final assessment. Create a Scrapbook

Page that represents the decade known as the roaring twenties based on the point of view of one of the following individuals that was famous during the 1920’s.

Due on Friday, Thursday, March 13 th

Requirements:

You are encouraged to be creative, and imaginative. Think about and look around for supplies you might be able to use on your page to represent the roaring twenties era. (Pictures, magazine clippings, stickers, charts, graphs, letters etc…)

Your scrapbook page must represent and demonstrate knowledge of the 1920’s. Find information about who your person was, what they did and accomplished in the 1920’s and what they thought about.

**Miss Springborn will supply the scrapbook paper for you when you are done with your research unless you have some you’d prefer to use. If you prefer to make your poster on the computer you may do that instead.

Front of the Page = Creative Expression of the 1920’s along with a picture of your person and the thoughts they may be having about the decade.

Back of the Page = A paragraph explaining your person you are researching on the front of the page. (Minimum 12 sentences)

In Class Work Time: _Thursday, March 6 th , Friday, March 7 th , and Monday, March 10 th . You are encouraged to work outside of class…at home, Encore, study hall etc…

TASK:

 Choose one person to research from the 1920’s

 Find out who your person was, what made them famous in the 1920’s and what things they may have been involved in during that time, what was their life like, what did they accomplish, etc…

 Using the information you find you will create at least 5 “thoughts” inside your person’s head they may have thought or said during the 1920’s

 These thoughts include… o Accomplishments he/she made o Actions he/she was involved in o Events he/she participated in o Anything else related to your individual

 On the back of your scrapbook page you will include a minimum one paragraph explanation of your person. Create a mini-biography for me about your person. Why did you pick the things you did to put in the “thought bubbles”?

 Include on your scrapbook page: o Pictures, drawings, short quotes, other symbols of the 1920’s

GRADE: Total of 70 points

 Your grade will be calculated according to the following criteria o Following directions 5 points o Notes you take during research 10 points o 5 thoughts on front of poster 15 points o Written Explanation on back of page 10 points o Quality of facts, details included 10 points o Behavior in Library 10 points o Creativity and visuals included 10 points
