GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Teacher Elizabeth Holland
Elizabeth Holland’s experience in mind-body fitness began in 1986 as a young, training dancer, utilizing Pilates and
Yoga technique as a means of conditioning and injury prevention. She continued her education and experiences with
Pilates throughout her professional dancing and teaching career to eventually become certified by the Physicalmind
Institute in 2001. She is also certified by Artforms of Italy to teach the MasterStretch Boot Series.
Elizabeth sought GYROTONIC® methodology as therapy following hip and shoulder injuries resulted from a
previous pregnancy and a later auto accident. She was so impressed with the healing qualities and relief of pain she
experienced that she went on to become certified in the method in 2002. She has since continued her studies further
to complete GYROTONIC® Level 2 twice and certification to teach all of the Specialized Equipment, as well.
Elizabeth is GYROTONIC® Master trainer, a GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer and GYROTONIC®
ARCHWAY Master Trainer. Elizabeth is the original proprietor and former owner of Las Vegas GYROTONIC®.
The scope of Elizabeth’s experience includes work with clients ranging from professional, training, and retired
dancers, performers & athletes, to those seeking relief from chronic pain and injury & the elderly, and to the average
individual seeking a means for looking and feeling better. Her commitment to her clientele is only exceeded by her
dedication to continuing her education as the methodology behind GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® evolves.
She seeks to create an experience based upon each individual’s specific needs, relying upon knowledge and
intuition.

About GYROTONIC®
The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a holistic approach to movement that is designed to meet the
needs of people of all ages and abilities. GYROTONIC® students are both young and old, recovering from illness
or injury and healthy. Some of the benefits of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercises include increased
strength and flexibility, renewed energy and vitality and a general sense of calm and well-being.
GYROTONIC® methodology allows users to stretch and strengthen muscles, whilesimultaneously stimulating and
strengthening connective tissues in and around the joints of the body.
These exercises are synchronized with corresponding breathing
patterns, thus enhancing aerobic and cardiovascular stimulation and
promoting neuro-muscular rejuvenation.
GYROTONIC® exercises offer complete freedom of movement.
Exercises are performed on the Professional Pulley Tower, and the
system is fully adjustable and can meet the needs of many people
with varying body types and levels of strength. The even and
constant resistance in the handle unit and pulley tower, (through the
triple reduction in the pulleys), completely eliminates the jarring that
takes place at the beginning and end of exercises performed on
conventional exercise equipment, when many injuries occur. The
circular, spiraling and undulating movements that characterize
the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® help to increase the
functional capacity of the spine, contributing to a spherical and threedimensional awareness, resulting in increased equilibrium.
GYROKINESIS®
After experiencing many personal struggles and chronic illnesses, Juliu Horvath spent many years in selfexploration and study. These experiences not only led him to true healing, but he was also inspired to create
movement principles that offer the same benefits also found in yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and tai chi, but
are not derived from these other exercise modalities. Some of the hallmarks of GYROKINESIS® exercises are the
fluidity of the movements and the ease with which one can perform them.
GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal
movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint
articulation. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating
movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns
are integrated along with the movements.
Fluidity is the key. Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are smoothly and harmoniously
connected through the use of breath, making exercises appear and feel more like a dance and swimming than like
traditional yoga. Those who practice GYROKINESIS® exercises tend to be more relaxed in their daily lives and
can move with increased flexibility and ease.
"I want music in my body and poetry in my body, and I want to be skillful without struggle; it has
to come without struggle" - Juliu Horvath, GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® founder.
