Policy Resolution
Whereas, AFGE is currently attempting to organize unorganized federal employees,
Whereas, AFGE does not always communicate with bargaining Councils that will
represent such employees who work in unorganized facilities when engaging in such
organizing efforts,
Whereas, organizers who are familiar with Agency contracts, policies and working
conditions are essential to conducting successful organizing drives,
Therefore be it resolved that, when AFGE engages in organizing non-union work
places and workers in such entities would be accreted in current Bargaining Council
Bargaining units if successfully organized, AFGE will include the appropriate Bargaining
Council in all planning and strategy discussions regarding such initiatives.
And be it further resolved that, AFGE will invite the Bargaining Council to participate in
such efforts to organize non-union work places.
