The Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau does not provide horses or horse drawn carriages unless
indicated in your parade invitation; all individuals, special interest or pageant groups, etc., must
rent their own private carriage for the parade. Carriages are limited and available on a first come
first served basis from Mackinac Island Carriage Tours or Jack’s Livery (www.mict.com or
www.jacksliverystable.com).

Description of Entry:
Include name of person in charge, hometown or group, years performing in the Lilac Festival
Parade, etc. for the parade script. Commentary is subject to editing by lilac festival parade
committee (25 words or less).
By signing this form, I am acting as the authorized representative of the group listed above. The
Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Parade applicant as designated above, and constituted by my
authorized signature below, agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Mackinac Island,
Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau, Great Turtle Festivals and Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Parade
Committee from and against all claims, losses, damages, and liabilities.

Please keep in mind stable space is difficult to obtain, it is imperative you contact us immediately
to secure stable space for your horses if available. Proof of current equine health records and
insurance must be provided with application. All horse applications must be approved by the lilac
festival equine committee. We do not accept applications for mini horses or ponies.

All off island horses must be approved by the lilac festival equine committee and approved horses
exhibited in the parade will be at the owner’s risk. Any uncontrolled horses will be removed from
the parade by the lilac festival equine specialists without question. The Mackinac Island Tourism
Bureau and Mackinac Island Lilac Festival parade committee will not be responsible for loss,
damages, or personal injury incurred before, during, or after the parade. Signing the entry form
binds you to all of the rules of the parade and affirms you have read, understand and agree to all
the information here within.

Waiver of Liability
I, the undersigned, as group representative, herby release, remise and forever discharge the Mackinac Island Lilac
Festival, Great Turtle Festivals, Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau and the City of Mackinac Island, its officers, directors,
severally or jointly, the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Committee and all volunteers of and from any and all liability, claims,
actions and possible causes of action which may accrue to myself or any member of the group from every and any loss,
damage and injury (including death) that may be sustained while participating in any Mackinac Island parade.
Application will be void if not accompanied by the waiver.

I (we) assume all risk of bodily injury or property damage that I/we may incur in participating in the Mackinac Island Lilac
Festival Grand Parade or Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Epona and Barkus parade and I/we hereby, for myself, my child,
my heirs, executors and administrators do hereby, expressly and forever waive and release any and all claims against
and agree to hold harmless the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival and all their respective officers, employees, agents,
Representatives, successors, or assigns of any kind from any and all claims which may be made for any cause
whatsoever arising as a result or in connection with the participation of me or my child in the herein mentioned event.
