This form is used to assist the COA in the evaluation of the program’s compliance with Accreditation Standards stated below.
4.0.2 The program provides evidence of ongoing data collection and analysis and discusses how it uses assessment data to affirm and/or make changes in
the explicit and implicit curriculum to enhance student performance.
4.0.5 The program appends the summary data for each measure used to assess the attainment of each competency for at least one academic year prior to
the submission of the self-study.
All Council on Social Work Education programs measure and report student learning outcomes. Students are assessed on their mastery of the competencies which
comprise the accreditation standards of the Council on Social Work Education. These competencies are dimensions of social work practice which all social workers are
expected to master during their professional training. A measurement benchmark is set by the social work programs for each competency. An assessment score at or
above that benchmark is considered by the program to represent mastery of that particular competency.

Data reported are from two (2) assessment tools: the Field Instructor Student End-of Semester Field Education Evaluation (a direct measure), and the Student’s SelfEvaluation of Field Foundation (indirect measure). Total N=22. The established benchmark is 80% at 3.0 or above. The rating scale used is:
4= Exceed Expectations: The score reflects the student has exhibited performance skills of a very high and has practiced well above the expected level.
3= Meets Expectations: This score reflects the student is performing at the expected level.
2= Below Expectations: This score reflects the student is performing below the expected level and is displaying certain limitations in knowledge, skills, values and
ethics, with these specific practice behaviors.
1= Failed to Meet Expectations: This reflects that the student is performing below the expected level and is displaying significant limitations in knowledge, skills
values and ethics with these practice behaviors.

¹The MSW Program’s Foundation curriculum previously had nine (9) established learning outcomes that incorporated and corresponded to the ten (10) core
competencies. Beginning in the Fall 2013 semester, data on the individual 41 practice behaviors was available and incorporated into the assessment.
