Help out in the Library: We are so fortunate to have the amazing Library Anne at Manor. She supports our children beyond their allotted classroom library time by being available and open during lunch, break recesses, before and after school. All these extra hours of love creates more shelving and organizing time. It is end of the year push, let's all show Library Anne how much we appreciate her by stopping by and donating time (any amount of time will help) to help prepare the library for next year. Here are a few ways you can help beginning May 27th: - shelving - reading shelves, put books in order - preparing for inventory - label new books If you would like instruction on how you can help stop by and chat with Library Anne at 8:30am8:40am or 2:05pm-3:15pm beginning May 27th. Plan on coming out to celebrate the arts with: art exhibits, music performances, poetry, and hands-on activities. If that is not enough, there will be food too! Open House is on Wednesday, May 21st. Please don’t forget to view your child’s art. There is art on display in the library by Kindergarten, MAP K/1, First, and MAP 2/3 grade students. Second grade art is on display in their classrooms, these are fantastic ceramic dinosaur sculptures, scenes, and a 2-d pastel. Grades third, fourth, fifth, and MAP 4/5 are in the art room. There will also be sculptures in the art room as well. If you have any brown paper bags to spare, please donate them to the art room. I need to disperse art work from the whole school by the end of the school year, the bags would help get your child’s work home safely. If you have any time to stop by the art room after school in the last weeks of school I could use some parent volunteers to help put student work in bags and return bags to classes. Thanks in advance for your much needed help. I hope to see you at Yesfest and at Open House. Sincerely, Nicole Diosdado Manor Art Teacher YES News: YES wants to hear from you, whether you donate or not. If you haven't taken the survey yet, take it before Tuesday, April 20. They value your opinion about your child's programs and future funding. Manor Freecycle Corner: Freecycle: "to recycle (re-use) by giving away an item for free that otherwise would have been put in the landfill." Here's an opportunity for Manor teachers or staff to post wanted items/material wish lists on a school-wide level; things that our ever-shrinking budget can't afford. It's a fun way to recycle and give to a classroom. If you have a desired item, please drop off to the specified teacher's classroom.
