FUNERAL HELD: Claudette Marie Racine
DATELINE: Saint Albans / Franklin, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, November 11, 2015,
at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. The pastor, Father Maurice
J. Roy was the principle celebrant and homilist. Concelebrating was Father
Luke P. Austin, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis Parish.
Assisting as Deacon and offering Special Words of Remembrance was The
Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois. Also in attendance was The Reverend Jason O’
Connell, pastor of the Franklin United Church. Serving as Ministers of the Altar
were, William Nihan and James Shepard.
Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan. Hymns selected
were, Here I Am Lord, Amazing Grace, Psalm Twenty-Three, Be Not Afraid, In
The Garden, Here We Are Remembering, Song of Farewell and Funeral
Hallelujah.
Red and yellow Roses were placed in the Sanctuary by Claudette’s
grandchildren. Scripture readings from the Old and New Testament were
proclaimed by nieces, Mary Early and Holly LeBlanc. The Offertory Gifts were
presented by Claudette’s sisters, Pierrette Parent and Lucy Parent and brothers,
Hilaire and Norman Beauregard.
Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the
Franklin Fire Department, M&C Transport, Richford High School - Class of 1963,
Bourdeau Brothers, Franklin Northwest Supervisory Union-Office of the
Superintendent of Schools, Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Franklin and
Sheldon School Districts, Haston Library, Franklin General Store, Franklin
County Sheriff’s Department, H&B Greenhouse and Nursery, Franklin County
Home Health Agency, Chase Auto, Franklin United Church and the parish
communities of Holy Angels, Nativity-Saint Louis and St. Mary Mission of
Franklin.
The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place later at the Racine family
lot in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin. The bearers all grandchildren were,
Rohan, Ezra & Lincoln Racine; Josh and Alexis Smith and Quinn and Nora
Racine.
Following the liturgy a reception was held for family and friends at Saint Mary’s
Parish Hall in Franklin hosted by the Franklin Fire Department.
