Essential Responsibilities and Duties List of the key responsibilities and duties associated with the job Relationships: Direct Reports: Apprentices as applicable Direct Manager: Reports directly to Production Manager Functional Manager: Reports functionally to Personnel Manager Principle Responsibilities: Schlumberger Competency Management Initiative (SCMi) Responsible for managing the roll out of SCMi to all shop floor departments in line with EMS deadlines, ensuring KPO’s are met and/or exceeded. Including completion of annual self-assessments and validations by the target population and supporting the subsequent T&D plans. ADVANCE: Responsible for monitoring ADVANCE candidate progress ensuing training delays are not incurred. Key contact for all administrative/ system queries related to Advance. Craft Training: To identify training Units in conjunction with company business and CPCB work centres. To prepare and deliver practical, technical and theoretical training content as set out by the awarding body (NVQ L3) for apprenticeships in the following disciplines: manual turning, milling fitting, grinding, CNC Milling & Turning, QC etc. To assess said training as required. To deliver hands on training for other employees as part of orientation or as required e.g. Manufacturing Engineers, Production Engineers, Process Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers etc. Lean Manufacturing Activities: Assist Lean Six Sigma Champion will the coordination of Production related Lean Manufacturing activity e.g. 5S programme, Kaizen, Kanban activity etc. Act as Lean Champion for shop floor departments. Training Record / Internal & Customer Audits: Responsible for maintaining all training records pertaining to shop floor training and works with HSE to Coordinate mandatory training as required e.g. SIPP, Slinging, FLT driving etc. Participates in Audits as required providing the required information and training records. Previous Experience and Competencies: Experience/Education Required: e.g. BEng Electrical Engineering e.g. 2-3 yrs directional drilling experience in deep water environments Required Competencies (special knowledge and skills) Person Specification: Education: Time served apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering to a minimum of C&G L3 or equivalent. Higher level qualification in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field desirable. Degree level qualification in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field D33/32 Assessor Awards or A1 Assessor Award or Level 3 award in assessing competence in the work environment or Level 3 Award in assessing vocationally related achievement. Experience: Excellent leadership and people management skills. Strong IT skills (MS Office package & web based packages). Proven experience in a similar role. Practical hands on knowledge of a range of disciplines such as manual turning, milling, fitting, CNC Milling & Turning, QC Inspection etc. Competencies to be kept current: Competencies to be kept current: Keep abreast of technological developments in area of expertise.
