NVQ Code of Practice 2006
The following parts of the NVQ Code of Practice apply to NVQ qualifications.

Criteria for Recognition March 2012
This document sets out the requirements which need to be met by an
awarding organisation before it can gain recognition status.
Amendments to the document Criteria for Recognition September 2015
This document outlines the changes made to the document Criteria for
Recognition. The changes enable Qualifications Wales to apply the criteria for
recognition to applications made by awarding bodies for recognition under the
Qualifications Wales Act 2015.
Interim General Conditions of Recognition November 2015
This document serves as Qualifications Wales’ Standard Conditions of
Recognition. It incorporates the Conditions of Recognition published by the

Welsh Government in March 2015 with amendments that reflect the creation
of Qualifications Wales and the removal of the QCF.

Requirements and guidance for assigning levels to regulated qualifications
and (where appropriate) their components.
Rules about applications for awarding body recognition
This applies to any body which wishes to apply to Qualifications Wales to
become a recognised awarding body and to have its qualifications regulated
in Wales.
Rules about application for approval and designation of qualifications
This applies to recognised awarding bodies who wish to apply to for its
qualification to be approved or designated by Qualifications Wales.
Approval criteria, criteria for designating a qualification, conditions of
approval and further provisions about designation
This applies primarily to awarding bodies recognised by Qualifications Wales.
Complaints about awarding bodies
This applies to anyone who wishes to complain about an awarding body
recognised by Qualifications Wales or about one or more regulated
qualifications offered by such an awarding body.
Taking action when things go wrong
This applies to recognised awarding bodies and for members of the public to
enable them to understand how Qualifications Wales might use its
enforcement and sanctions powers.
Regulatory appeals policy
This applies to anyone who has been affected by a regulatory decision made
by Qualifications Wales and wishes to appeal about that decision.
Regulatory incident management policy
This applies to Qualifications Wales’ staff so that they are clear on the initial
procedure to manage any regulatory incident.
Additional Certificate Requirements
This applies to awarding bodies so that they issue certificates that meet
Qualifications Wales requirements.
