 World premiere of hydraulic units for stationary cranes

Salzburg,
PALFINGER Equipment Center will be presenting three global premieres all in one
go at Bauma 2013 from 15 to 21 April in Munich. The PALFINGER Hybrid is an
efficient solution for using cranes in sensitive places of deployment. An innovative
motor pump group forms its core. While conventional loading cranes always have to
rely on the built-in combustion engine in order to provide the pressure required in the
hydraulics for work purposes, the new pump group can, on request, manage entirely
without any exhaust gases or noise at all. This is a decisive advantage, particularly in
residential areas and other sensitive areas. The operator first switches the
combustion engine off. Then the operator simply connects the PALFINGER pump
group to the local power grid by means of a cable drum – voltage required: 400 V at
50 Hz. The operator can now switch on the hybrid drive. The entire electrical system
including all fuses and the emergency off switch can be found in a separate switch
box. An integrated power control system ensures a high working speed for the crane
at all times. It has been possible to place orders for the motor pump groups with
7.5 kW and 15 kW power since the end of 2012.
A further world premiere being presented by PALFINGER in Munich takes the form of
hydraulic units for knuckle boom and wood cranes in stationary operation. The units
are available with four power levels: 15 kW, 30 kW, 55 kW and 75 kW. Thanks to the
integrated power control system, high working pressures of up to 365 bar and
delivery rates of up to 195 litres per minute are possible. In addition to the intelligent
power control system, the engine also feature ultra-high energy efficiency. The entire
system consisting of the unit and crane are perfectly adapted to each other, and this
guarantees quick and easy installation. As an option, the customer can equip the unit
with a suitable oil pan and a tank heater. These units are also available to order now.
A variable hydraulic pump with a changeable direction of rotation is the third world
premiere that PALFINGER is presenting at Bauma 2013. This revolutionary system,
which PALFINGER developed together with the French hydraulic specialist Hydro
Leduc, is designed to make it much easier to select pumps on the truck.
The strategy being followed by PALFINGER is clear: the customer receives
everything from a single source. This means that all components are optimally
adapted to each other and work very well together.
PALFINGER also provides various special solutions. The right equipment can turn
the crane into a multi-functional tool. Customers will be able to inspect and
experience some of these special solutions at Bauma
