JEEViKA - Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project, a Government of Bihar Project assisted by the World Bank, aims to empower the
rural poor by creating self managed community institutions and enhancing incomes through sustainable livelihoods. The
project is striving to bring a change in the lives of about 5 lakh poor families of Bihar by promoting livelihoods through
community institutions, their federations and producer’s groups. The five year project was launched on 2nd October 2007,
covering 44 blocks of eight districts in Bihar. The Project is being implemented by an independent society; Bihar Rural
Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS) created under the Department of Finance, Govt of Bihar. It has a three tier
implementation structure at the State, District and Block/Field Level. For more details about the project please visit

offer.
1.
CASHIER 1 (UR-1): You should have worked for managing accounts, book keeping and other related job in
Government/reputed institutions. Knowledge of working on computer and operating Tally or any other double
entry accounting Software will be essential. Preference would be given to those who have worked in Government
programme/project. Bihar Government employee may also apply on the basis of deputation. You should be a
Graduate in Economics/Commerce/CA (Inter)/ICWAI (inter) with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Gross
monthly remuneration is Rs. 14400 – 21500. The first 6 month will be training period. During this period, gross
monthly remuneration will be Rs. 12300. After successful completion of training, final salary will be fixed as per
norms laid down in HRD manual of the society.
2.
STORE KEEPER 1 (UR-1): You should have worked for handling stores, keeping records, managing supplies of
office equipments/materials and dealing with purchase of office materials with large official set up. You
will be stationed at state level and responsible for maintaining systematic record for all official
equipments/materials, updating store records of all district and block units as required at SPMU level,
managing IEC/ communication materials and facilitating smooth supply to field units and assisting
thematic team in organizing related events/visits/meetings. We are looking for a person who has completed
graduate degree in any discipline with at least 2 years relevant experience. The gross monthly remuneration is Rs.
13000-19000.

ACCOUNTANT (block level): Total Position 9 (SC-7, ST-1, WBC-1): You should have worked in book- keeping and
accounts related job with reputed institutions, Government programmes/project or NGOs. Knowledge of working on
computer and operating Tally or any other double entry accounting Software will be essential. You will be
stationed at block level and responsible to look after all accounts related work, preparing periodic financial reports
and operationalise prudent financial norms within office. We are looking for person who has completed graduate
degree in commerce with at least 1 year relevant experience. Gross monthly remuneration is Rs. 11200 – 16100.
The first 6 month will be training period. During this period, gross monthly remuneration will be Rs. 9500. After
successful completion of training, final salary will be fixed as per norms laid down in HRD manual of the society.

OFFICE ASSISTANT (block level): Total Position 6 (SC-4, ST-1, WBC -1): You should have worked in extending
secretarial assistance and managing communication, office record keeping, compiling of project information and
maintaining records related with programmatic, administrative and HRD affairs in reputed institutions/ government
programme/development project or NGO. Excellent knowledge of working on computer with MS office
environment will be must. You should also possess good writing and typing skill in both Hindi and English. You will be
stationed at block level. We are looking for person who has completed graduate degree in any discipline with at
least 1 year relevant experience. The gross monthly remuneration is Rs. 7900-12000.

LIVELIHOODS SPECIALIST – Total Position 18 (UR-9, EBC-3, SC-3, BC-2 and WBC-1): As part of BPIU, you will be based
at cluster level. You will be responsible for rolling out of all livelihoods interventions (agriculture, animal husbandry,
jobs etc.) with the active involvement of village organizations in conjunction with Area Coordinator, Community
Coordinator and Specialized Community Cadre. You will also be responsible for developing a cadre of CRPs for scaling
up of project operation and training them as well in various livelihood subjects. Another key responsibility will be to
produce Village Livelihood Plans. You should have experience of working with livelihoods/SHG promotion programme
run by government/reputed NGOs or agencies. You should have also worked at field level and have experience of
successfully executing Livelihoods (preferably farm based) intervention, organizing community and building
relationship with government/service provider agencies/NGOs. We are looking for a person with completed PG
degree in any discipline with at least 2 year of relevant experience or Graduation in any discipline with at least 4
years of relevant experience. Fresh Graduate (BSc Agri)/Graduate (BVSc.)/Graduate (B Tech Dairy Sc.) may also
apply for this position. The gross monthly remuneration is Rs 11,200 to Rs 16,100.
In addition to gross monthly remuneration, the provision of Annual Performance Pay (ranging from 0-15% of annual
basic pay), Group Accidental as well as Medi-claim coverage, Child Education Allowance and Self Learning Benefits will
be available for those successfully inducted on all the above said positions (1-5).

only to domiciled residents of Bihar.

All Positions are offered on a contract basis for a period of two years, which may be further renewed based on
performance and requirement of the project.
