GEOMETRY DICTIONARY PROJECT

Fourth graders will be studying geometry the next few weeks. My students will create a geometry
dictionary to help them learn the geometry vocabulary in this unit. The project should be done in a
folder using notebook paper or computer paper. Students will use their dictionary to study geometry.
Please include this assignment sheet and assessment checklist as the first page in the Geometry
Dictionary you create. Your grade will be recorded on the assignment sheet and in the grade book.
STEPS
1) Write the geometry vocabulary words on back in alphabetical order in the second column.
2) Write each geometry vocabulary word and its definition in alphabetical order on notebook
paper, three definitions per page. Draw a picture to show an example of each vocabulary word.
The illustrations must be drawn and colored when possible by the students.
3) Use your Student Reference Book (SRB) pages 88-91, 97, and 100 to find information and
definitions for vocabulary words.
4) The cover of the dictionary project should include a title and your name.
5) Decorate the folder with your own geometric designs.
