A Resolution
In support of Professors Excusing Absences for Student Officers and Athletes

Whereas, student athletes and officers promote the University of Nevada through both sports
and representing our school;

Whereas, to represent our school these students may have to miss class from time to time;

Whereas, it is already common practice for these students to be allowed more than the average

number of excused Absences than nonstudent athletes and officers;
Whereas, some student athletes and officers grades may fall due to their obligation to represent
our university;
Be it resolved that; we as the Senate of the Associated Students of the University of Nevada
support the policy that student officers and athletes should be allowed excused absences and

time to make up assignments if the class was missed for a reason that can be validated by a

coach or ASUN director or associate director;
