Learning activities - Answer’s the question, how do I teach it?
1- Do now:
In worksheets, students have to match the Arabic writing of the characters
to their sounds. The sounds are written in English.
Time allowed is 2 minutes.
I collect the sheets to be marked.
2- I make a quick revision of the Arabic latters by asking them which letter
that has the sound….
I ask them about the names of the letters randomly. For example, what
is the fifth letter in Arabic?
I ask some individuals to write some of the Arabic letters in Arabic on
the board.

Students be seated in groups of three. I give out small blank cards. They
have to write the 15 Arabic latters they learned successively. They show
them in order from the right to left.

They have to write the first version of the letters.
The first group to finish is the winner. They get 3 points.
I collect the cards in the end.

The group of the fewest mistakes in pronunciation and missing letters
are the winner. They get 3 points.

Time allowed is 3 minutes. The first to finish is the winner. 3 points are
given.
I collect the cards in the end.
6- I announce the winner group.
I declare that there is going to be a quiz about the 15 alphabet letters
next class. They have to be ready.

I know? What did I learn? How will I improve my lesson next time?
1- Time was quiet enough.
2- The students had fun and it helped a lot in getting familiar with
writing the alphabet.
