Senior Regional Orchestra Student Audition Letter 2015
North Central Virginia Senior Regional Orchestra auditions are quickly approaching! Here is
important information regarding this event.
Auditions for Senior Regional Orchestra will take place on September 23, 2015 for
Winds/Percussion and September 26, 2015 for Strings/Harp, at Woodbridge Senior High School
in Woodbridge, Virginia. 9th – 12th graders are eligible to audition for Senior Regional
Orchestra. (9th Graders must decide if they want to audition for Senior Regional Orchestra or
Junior Regional Orchestra. They may NOT audition for both.)
Directors will submit all student names on-line.
Each student will audition according to the information provided on the North Central Orchestra
Website. The General Information about the required scales and musical excerpts are located at
www.ncvro.org.
Wind/Percussion audition etude is the same etude used for the 2014-2015 Virginia All State
Audition. Scale auditions will follow the same guidelines as District Band.
String Audition:
Look at www.ncvro.org website for further audition information.
*Remember, you are not allowed to bring scale sheets into the audition. Scales must be
memorized.
Students need to bring $5.25 to the audition site along with their completed “Student
Registration Commitment Form,” unless informed differently by their school director. The
student registration form has a statement on it that states:
“If the director cannot be present, a duly appointed representative must accompany the student
with an appointing letter signed by the director and school principal. I UNDERSTAND THAT
IF MY DIRECTOR/APPOINTED DIRECTOR IS NOT PRESENT AT THE AUDITION SITE
AND AN APPOINTING LETTER HAS NOT BEEN SUBMITTED, I WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO AUDITION.”
