Please remember that this course is a physical education class at a major institution of higher learning, attendance is required for successful completion. Should you need to miss more than one class for any reason, please speak with one of your instructors, and he or she will refer you to the Tree Climbing Programs Coordinator. The instructors have planned the course to use the entire class time. You are expected to be on time and ready to participate at the beginning of each class. Topics Covered Tree climbing safety Introduction to tree climbing equipment Proper use and care of tree climbing equipment Line setting Single Rope Technique Double Rope Technique Rappelling Goals: Students should have fun and develop an appreciation for tree climbing Students should gain an understanding of basic tree climbing skills. Students should learn to take responsibility for their own safety while tree climbing. Students should learn how to properly use and care for tree climbing equipment.
