So you’re looking for a new property. Maybe it’s your first home, maybe you’re
upgrading or perhaps you’re in the market for a new investment.
While it’s easy to get carried away with the excitement of buying a home, it’s
important to make sure you’ve done the research in order to make an informed
financial decision.
Looking at things that might affect your use of the property or land are called
‘interests’ and a Landgate Property Interest Report can provide you with the
background on the property you may be considering.
Just ask your real estate agent for a copy of the report or you can purchase one
online through the Landgate website.
Here are some interests that may help you decide where to buy.
For buyers and residents in the Perth Hills, Bush Forever, Mining Titles, Native
Vegetation and Aircraft Noise interests may affect your property.
If looking to purchase near the river you are more likely to find interests such as
Acid Sulfate Soil Risk, Contaminated Sites, Garden Bore Suitability and 100
Year Floodplain.
If considering an older area, things to look out for include Heritage Listed
properties, Local Planning Schemes, Possible Road Widening and
Contaminated Sites.
And if considering properties in regional Western Australia, relevant interests
include Environmental Protection Policies, Contaminated Sites and Former
Military Training Areas.
