Ice-Breaker Game

Work Breakdown Structure • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a deliverable oriented hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team. • Students will be given answer cards and boards are required to re-arrange according to the structure. One of the lecturers will be required check the answers before the students carry on with the next challenge. • 2 groups of students will be sharing one board.

Challenge 2: Short Answer Questions • Students will be answering some theory questions related to LTA and project planning, using the hints (refer to PROPs 3, 4, 5) placed in the gallery. Zone 2-3: Memories Formative Years 7

Challenge 3: Project Life Cycle Phases • Students will learn about the 5 phases of project life cycle. Focusing on the Thomson East Coast Line, 9 answer cards will be given in this challenge. Students will have to match the cards to the phases on the board provided. A definition of phases will be an aid to the students as to recall what each phase is. • One of the lecturers will check the answers before the students proceed on with the guided tour. Before the start of the programme:

• Pre-arrival:

- Lecturer will need to print and give out the Activity Worksheet and Activity Worksheet Answer.

• Upon arrival:

- Short briefing by facilitator. (introduction slide) - Assist the facilitator to assign the students into 10 groups of 5 and engage the students during self-discovery programme.
