Description Location

Pre-arrival preparation

• Lecturers are encouraged to go through a brief summary on Project Management in class.

• Lecturers will need to divide the students into maximum groups of 5.

• Lecturer will be provided with:

Activity Worksheets & answer sheet,

Ice-breaker answer sheet

School Lecturer’s guide (refer to page 10) for reference before commencing the tour.

• Facilitator will set up the gallery, providing the necessary props stated in the Facilitator’s Guide.

(refer to page 9)

Introduction

• Facilitator welcomes the class and organises them in their groups as assigned by the Lecturers.

•Facilitator will then go through Introduction Slides

(refer to page 21) with the students to let them understand what the programme is about.

Work Breakdown Structure

• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a deliverableoriented hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team.

• Students will be given answer cards and boards are required to re-arrange according to the structure.

One of the lecturers will be required check the answers before the students carry on with the next challenge.

• 2 groups of students will be sharing one board.

Challenge 3: Project Life Cycle Phases

• Students will learn about the 5 phases of project life cycle. Focusing on the Thomson East Coast Line, 9 answer cards will be given in this challenge. Students will have to match the cards to the phases on the board provided. A definition of phases will be an aid to the students as to recall what each phase is.

• One of the lecturers will check the answers before the students proceed on with the guided tour.

Before the start of the programme:

• Pre-arrival:

- Lecturer will need to print and give out the Activity Worksheet and Activity Worksheet Answer.

• Upon arrival:

- Short briefing by facilitator. (introduction slide)

- Assist the facilitator to assign the students into 10 groups of 5 and engage the students during self-discovery programme.

Routes: North South corridor directly to the heart of the city and developments in the Marina Bay area. (Woodlands North to Garden by the Bay)
