NOTE 1 Standards: Where Australian Threshold learning Outcomes (TLOs) exist (History, Geography, Social Sciences, Creative )
they must be incorporated into the Discipline Specific Learning Outcomes to demonstrate these standards have been met. It is not
anticipated that more Australian Threshold Learning Outcomes will be developed for other disciplines.
NOTE 2 Resources: There are a huge number of resources already developed and under development. Those included here are a
sample. They may not be useful or there may be others on the websites that I have not identified. The Tuning EU project has
counterparts in the USA, Latin America, Russia and Africa. In addition, there are some statements for the separate countries within
Britain. As well as the statements around outcomes for specific subject areas, many of the resources include ideas and examples
of assessment and teaching and learning arrangements, including innovative approaches. The learning outcomes statements from
other jurisdictions are not prescriptive since your major will be different in scope and depth. Much, however, is likely to be in
common and these statements will be a rich source of ideas and language which you can use in the development of your
statements. In addition, they form a way of benchmarking your major against international statements.
Some of the resources available are in PDF and others are in HTML on the websites. I have only looked at the PDFs and so it may
be useful to visit these websites to see what other resources exist, particularly on the English (QAA) and EU (EQF-Tuning) sites and
the Higher Education Academy in the UK. See below for links.
