Emily Ackerman is a manager of the Mercury Rehab Clinic. She supervises three departments:
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. The clinic provides services to
children from birth to eighteen with varying disabilities. Emily would like you to design a
presentation template that can be used to introduce parents of new patients to the clinic. She
would like it to include information that applies to all departments such as history, organization,
and policies. Information specific to each department including goals and an introduction to
personnel will also be included. Some children will work with therapists from all three
departments. Others will receive treatment from only one or two departments. Emily would like
to be able to customize the presentation with information specific to each patient. For example, if
a child will receive physical and occupational therapy, she would like to be able to hide the
information pertaining to speech therapy.
Emily has provided you with a sample presentation with the information to include. She
would like you to incorporate the clinic logo and use colors from the logo throughout the
presentation to make it colorful and appealing to families. After reviewing her presentation, you
decide to add some design elements and conclude with a slide featuring the clinic logo. You will
test the template you develop using an imaginary family.
a.
Start PowerPoint. Open YO_ps02_ps1_Rehab. Review the sample presentation.
b.
Save the presentation as a PowerPoint Template in the location where you store your project
files as YO_p02_ps1_Rehab_Template_solution.
c. Type the family name Addams where indicated in the title placeholder on the slide title. Hide
the three slides pertaining to occupational therapy.
d.
Format the Background for all layouts using a Gradient fill, and a Linear Type, with a
Direction set to Linear Down.
e.
Change the font color to Dark Blue and increase the font size to 20.
f.
Insert a footer and type Mercury Rehab Clinic The footer should appear on all slides
except the title slide.
g.
On the four slides displaying the organization charts, select all rectangular shapes and then
fill with Blue, Accent 1, Lighter 80%.

Select the last slide in the presentation and add a new slide with the Title Only layout.
Format the background with the file YO_p02_ps1_Rehab_Logo.

View the presentation, reviewing all slides. Make sure that only the slides that you want
included display. Save and close the presentation. Exit PowerPoint.
