No. 122/2011 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Drugs of Dependence - Synthetic Cannabinoids) Regulations 2011 The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations: Dated: 2 November 2011 Responsible Minister: MARY WOOLDRIDGE Minister for Mental Health MATTHEW McBEATH Clerk of the Executive Council 1 Objective The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe synthetic cannabinoids as drugs of dependence for the purposes of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 2 Authorising provision These Regulations are made under section 132AA of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 3 Commencement These Regulations come into operation on 9 November 2011. 1 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Drugs of Dependence - Synthetic Cannabinoids) Regulations 2011 r. 4 S.R. No. 122/2011 4 Definition In these Regulations— the Act means the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981. 5 Prescribed drugs of dependence For the purposes of paragraph (ba) of the definition of drug of dependence in section 4(1) of the Act— (a) a substance specified in Column 1 of the Table to this regulation is a drug of dependence included in Part 3 of Schedule Eleven to the Act; and (b) for the purposes of Part 3 of Schedule Eleven to the Act, the specified quantities of that drug for the purposes of Columns 1A to 4 of that Part of that Schedule are the quantities in Columns 1A to 4 of the Table to this regulation in relation to that drug which correspond to the relevant column of that Part of that Schedule. 2 Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances (Drugs of Dependence - Synthetic Cannabinoids) Regulations 2011 r. 6 S.R.
