JOB POSTING

I. POSITION: Part Time Reading Coach, Agindaasodaa! (Let’s Read!)

Youth Leadership Development Program

This is a .5 FTE non-exempt position at the Division of Indian Work. The position is funded by the Greater Twin Cities United Way and will operate in partnership with

Anishinabe Academy, a Minneapolis Public School. The Reading Coach will work during the school day at Anishinabe Academy. The Reading Coach will collaborate with the classroom teachers to provide a reading tutoring program to students in the kindergarten-third grades.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement the Leveled Literacy Intervention program in classrooms as assigned by Program Coordinator.

2. Collaborate with the classroom teachers and the Content Focus Coach at

Anishinabe Academy on service delivery of the program.

3. Monitor and report on progress of students in program.

4. Help plan and supervise three literacy focused family nights during the school year.

5. Prepare reports to both the Division of Indian Work, the Greater Twin Cities

United Way and other funders as requested.

6. Attend meetings as required by the Division of Indian Work and the Greater

Twin Cities United Way.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalency.

2. Experience, competence, and sensitivity in working with American Indian people.

3. Experience working with youth in a classroom or non-traditional setting such as an after school program.

4. Good organizational skills.

5. Must be a team player and be able to work collaboratively.

6. Must model violence free behavior.

7. Ability to sit for up to an hour at one time and occasionally lift up to 20 pound
