LAYERS OF THE EARTH PROJECT Directions: Make a 3-dimensional model of the layers inside the Earth. Use different colors for the 3 main layers of the Earth (use your notes and handouts). Also correctly show and label the zones of the Lithosphere and Asthenosphere. Try to make your layers proportionate (that is- they should be adjusted in size relative to other sizes) Due Date is Friday, November 13, 2015 Presentation of the Project will be in class. Requirements: 3-Dimentional model that is smaller than soccer ball, but larger than a tennis ball. Must have 3 different colors for your Earth layers. Include the Lithosphere and Asthenosphere zones. Label the layers and zones. Proportion is important. (Proportion is getting the sizes of objects correct in relation to other objects.) So, the crust should clearly appear to be the thinnest layer. Include an index card with your name, the steps you used in constructing your masterpiece, and list materials you used (both recycled and new). Be creative! Use recycled materials or anything found in your home. Make your model & labels neat. Be proud of your work. Spelling counts! Make sure your name and class period are visible on project. See grading rubric on back for more guidance. Due on or before Friday –November 13, 2015. Each day project is late is 10 points off.
