Re: Annual Licence Renewal
You are reminded that your license to practice under the Medical Act expires on 31st December
2015. Please find attached the renewal form and payment invoice.
There is a grace period of thirty days for renewal, which expires 31st January 2016. After this time,
the renewal of your license carries a penalty fee of two hundred dollars ($200) in addition to the
renewal fee.
Continuing medical education requirements for renewal of license begins December 31st 2016 for
renewal of license in 2017. Applications for renewal of license must be accompanied by certified
copy of Continuing Medical Education credits (CME) in accordance with the amended Medical
Regulations, 2014. General Practice physicians are required to submit 20 hours of Continuing
Medical Education BMC/ACCME credits and Specialists are required to complete 10 of the 20 CME
credits within the area of their specialty. Only CME credits approved by the ACCME/BMC will be
accepted by the Bahamas Medical Council.
Should you be a work permit holder, a valid copy of your permit must accompany the application.
All cheques should be made payable to the Bahamas Medical Council.
