Park office for these four parks is at Anne Kolb Nature Center, 751 Sheridan St., Hollywood, FL 33019 westlakepark@broward.org 954-357-5161 Volunteer to staff the mangrove-themed Exhibit Hall, answering questions, interpreting exhibits and aquaria for individual visitors and groups. Perform light maintenance, program preparation, and care of exhibits and aquaria. May also lead nature trail tours and assist with special events. May assist with programs and events at all four parks. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays through Saturdays. Easy: 1-2 Comfortable speaking in public. Trail tours are in full sun on most trails. Walking distance (Exhibit Hall and Mangrove Hall lobbies). One to two individuals. Per prearranged schedule with volunteer coordinator. As needed provided by volunteer coordinator. None. Personal items to bring Outside work: clothes suitable for outdoor work, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, closed-toe shoes, gloves, water and/or snack, cell phone to communicate with office as needed. Volunteer Application Deadline There is an approximately two- week wait from submission date for approval and background check. Ongoing volunteers need to complete the Volunteer Application, which includes a background check. One- time volunteers need to fill out the Workday Volunteer Application, which doesn’t require a background check (EcoAction Days only). Training/orientation will be provided over several volunteer dates, starting with the first day of volunteering. Use of cell phones and other electronic devices while on volunteer duty is discouraged. Looking for energetic, friendly volunteers with good people skills and an interest in nature to enhance the quality of our visitors’ experience at our nature center and parks.
