Hello. The Organizing Committee of the 5th China Changchun International
Ceramics Symposium expresses warm greetings to you.
Since 2011, the city of Changchun has hosted the International Ceramics
Symposium for four consecutive years. There are more than 500 proposals representing more than 80 ceramists from 35 countries which are collected in
Changchun International Ceramic Gallery. These works are highly evaluated by the
Chinese and foreign artists. The ceramics symposium plays an important role in promoting the Chinese and foreign culture exchanges. The 5th China Changchun
International Ceramics Symposium is going to be held in the way of “created by group and exhibited intensively” in the next year.
In view of your achievements of the ceramic creative field, the symposium
Organizing Committee sincerely calls for your proposals. If your proposals are reviewed and accepted by the Organizing Committee, you would be formally invited and individually separated into one of the following groups according the periods below, for creating your works on site in Changchun.

Participation Instructions
1. The applicants need to send their applications to the organizing committee
( cctaoyi@sina.com
or Ljjmyh@163.com
) or register at http://en.changchun.gov.cn at the end of February 2016, which should contain three of their work samples, specified sizes, materials and the concepts. After the expert’s deliberation, the organizing committee will decided whether send out formal invitation.
2. The participants would be granted 1000 US dollars, meals, accommodation, interpreter, round trip air tickets from current residency to Changchun, for completing a minimum of three works during their stay in Changchun, as well as basic supplies.
The expenses of the professional group and the creation of porcelain painting will be consulted afterwards.
3. The selected participants have an option of bringing one completed work which represents the style and level of their own, and create two works in Changchun, or create three works in Changchun. They are also encouraged to bring their special tools and pigments for their own use.
4. During the symposium, the Organizing Committee offers the ceramists special worksite and following equipments and materials:
1. 2 fuel gas shuttle kilns (1.5m³ 、 1.0m³); 2 electric kilns (0.5m³ 、 0.35m³), which can be used to dry works.
2. Throwing wheels; slab roller; pug mill
3. Porcelain clay from Jingdezhen; grained clay from Shandong;
4. Over 20 kinds of glazes
5. The Organizing committee would discuss with the selected participants about their working process in detail after they register.
6. The Organizing Committee would hold a welcome reception when every camp registers.
7. Given the limitations of workplace and accommodation, it would be better to have 6 - 8 participants in each camp.
8. The participants would be arranged some activities, such as visit and tour, except on dates.
9. The selected participants should consult the time of creation in Changchun with the Organizing Committee. Once the date is set, it can not be changed with the
exception of irresistible incidents.

Time: From April 15, 2016 to August30, 2016, seven groups of 6 to 10 participants are separately invited to create on worksite for about 20 days (project creation: 10 days).
The final exhibition would be held at Changchun International Ceramic Galleryall after September 1, 2016.

Symposium belong to Changchun Municipal People's Government and would be permanently collected by Changchun International Ceramic Gallery, and at the appointed time, the certificate for collection would be issued by Changchun
International Ceramic Gallery to the selected participants.
7. Publish issue
Some of the displayed works would be selected by the Organizing Committee of ceramics symposium with public release in the Ceramic Portfolio (album) which is published every two years. Each selected participant would be given 5 albums.
