Girls’ golf team took 2 nd in the SWC.

Boys’ golf team took 4 th place in the SWC.

Concessions are going well. Janice and Linda have an enormous job. Perhaps we should consider a committee in the future so the burden does not fall on two people. Some schools require each team to run a specified number of events. We will discuss concessions and way to improve the implementation and process in the future.

Athletic Dept. is focusing on 3 big projects. The turf will be replaced at the cost of $350,000-

400,000. The school system will pay $200,000. All sports teams that use the turf will be asked to contribute for a total of $25,000. Scoreboard sponsors will generate $30,000. Ken Ganley donated $10,000 for scoreboard advertising, and we received an additional $10,000 from other advertisers. Boosters will be asked to contribute no more than $30,000.

Athletic Dept. is also focusing on the resurfacing of the tennis courts. Dan Kalinsky had a meeting with parents to discuss the options. The school board and superintendent have the tennis court project on their radar. The courts were installed in 1986. Community members also use the courts. We would like to reach out to the citizens to contribute money for the project which could range from $100,00-$300,000, depending on the option chosen.

The third project the athletic dept. is focusing on is the upgrading of the stadium. The project could include a new entrance, new fencing, updated landscaping, and improved safety features.

A renewal levy is on the ballot in November. Please vote. This levy will not increase your taxes.
