Artist statement-My work is about colour, shape and beauty, reflecting my growing up under the blue skies and bright sun of Argentina. My background is in photography and it
informs my way of seeing. My inspiration comes from many sources, but colour is my main passion; I use it in my own unique way. I work in an intuitive way, using hand-dyed and
painted fabric, and the techniques of piecing, fusing, quilting, screen printing, and inkjet printing. I aim to offer visual enjoyment to viewers, just like music gives us pleasure and
emotion, rather than make work that requires complex interpretation. I exhibit locally and internationally, give occasional workshops, and work to commission

annually where my work has proved fairly popular. sue.willpower53@talktalk.net
Lot 29 - Great Tit in Winter-framed acrylic painting by Sue Williams (40cmx32cm) Donated by the artist.
Artist statement- Having painted in water colour for the past twenty or so years, I saw a demonstration by a talented “fur and feather” artist who specialised in
acrylics, which I had always rejected. His method of using acrylics was inspirational and I immediately bought some to have a go. After painting very loosely in
watercolour using large brushes, it was a very different principle using fine brushwork but just as enjoyable. Again I have been moderately successful with the
popularity of these paintings. sue.willpower53@talktalk.net
