The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in
honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic
of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area.
【Taipei 101】
Located in the finest district Taipei has to offer, TAIPEI 101 is the largest engineering
project ever in the history of the Taiwan construction business. Supported by a dozen or so
domestic businesses, the TFC Corp. was fortunate to have local and international experts in
charge of the planning, and world-class architect C.Y. Lee was responsible for the design of
the project. The design transcends the uni-body concept and is
based on the Chinese number 8, a numeral long considered lucky in
Chinese culture. Eight-floor structural units are connected one by
one on top of each other to form the whole. This kind of rhythmic
aesthetic is new to skyscrapers.
【Taipei 101 Observatory (option tour)-@NT500】
It’s 382 meters above the ground the 89F Observation Floor offers
visitors a commanding view of the city and Taipei Basin at all
directions. The world’s largest damper, weighing 660 metric tons, is
also exhibited at this level. The Observatory is equipped with high power binoculars, drinks bar, image services, pre-recorded audio
tour guides in seven languages, & souvenir shops.
TAIPEI 101 Observatory’s elevators are Guinness Record - breaking
high-speed pressurized elevators in 2004, with a speed of 1010
meters per minute. It takes only 37 seconds to reach the 89th Floor.

【Sun Moon Lake】The most famous sights around Sun Moon Lake are the Itashao,
Lalu Island, the Xuanzang Temple, the Ci-en Pagoda, and the Wenwu Temple and so
on. The natural forests bordering these roads are good places for bird watching. There
are a lot of birds that live on the mid-elevation, such as the Grey-cheeked Fulvetta,
Grap-throated Minivet, Formosan Yuhina, Gray Tree Pie, Bamboo Partridge, Chinese

【Wenwu Temple】 is located at the shoulder of mountain where is on the north of
Sun Moon Lake. It was built in 1938. People worried the water of Sun Moon Lake might

Wenwu Temple is 2 (Longfeng Temple and Ihuatang) in 1. It was rebuilt in 1969. Its
gate is face to the north. People pray the Civil Saint of Confucius, the Military Saint of
Guangong, and the Established God of two temples at the Wenwu Temple. The temple
is popular among students.

【Yeliu】 The area of marine live specimen demonstrates many specimens of precious
marine mammals and fish. It is very educational. There are excellent shows of whales,
dolphins and seals, such as diving, ballet on water and other talent shows. There is a
stadium with 3,500 seats. On holidays, the place attracts many visitors for the show. When
you visit Yeliu, don't forget to visit sea world and feel the marine wanders.
【Pingxi】Ping River (Pingxi) and Shifen are just two of several towns alongside highway
106, a narrow back road that runs between southern Taipei and southern Keelung. Ping
River (Pingxi) Heavenly Lantern Festival is one of the three most popular and well - known
celebration event during the Lantern Festival.
