What are the requirements for registering to enter the university? -Fill out the admissions application at this link: http://www.utsoe.edu.mx/ -Pay the registration fee and turn in the following documentation: -Copy of birth certificate -Copy of high school certificate (diploma) -Two copies of CURP or official identification -2 small, black & white photos 2. What is the cost of admission? -$200 pesos 3. Where and when can I submit my documents? What does my high school diploma need to say? -It needs to indicate the last period you were studying, and if it indicates that you have graduated high school then it must show that you are not missing any classes and that your certification (diploma) is being processed. 5. How recent does my diploma need to be? -No more than 1 month old 6. If I am missing a class, can I still register? -Yes, but when you present your diploma it must indicate that you will complete the class and the date when you will take the class. 7. Can I submit my academic transcript instead of my official high school diploma? -No, because your transcript is not a valid official certification of your high school degree. 8. If I already registered with UTSOE, can I still change my major? -Yes. 9. Will UTSOE give me a study guide for the admissions exam? -Yes, UTSOE will give you a study guide when you register for admission. 10. If I paid the registration fee but didn’t turn in my documents, can I enter in a different period? -Yes, you can, when there are dates for the admissions exam. 11. If I paid the registration fee but decided not to continue with the admissions process, will UTSOE return my money to me? -No. 12. When does the registration period end in 2015? *Registration starts on the 7th of January, 2015 and within the year there are 3 admissions exams. Admissions exams: -May 16th -July 4th -August 8th Admissions Exam for TSU: 1. What do I need to take the admissions exam? -The application for the exam, photo identification, and the “admissions exam pass” that they give you when you register. 2. How long is the admissions exam? -3.5 hours 3. If I couldn’t attend the admissions exam date that I had selected, can I take it at another date? -Yes, you can take it at another date as long as your reasons for missing the first test are justified. 4. Where do I take the admissions exam? -The Students Services department will tell you where you will take the exam. Enrollment 1. How will I know if I have been accepted to UTSOE or not? -On the webpage www.utsoe.edu.mx, in the section that says EXANI II, you can see this information. 2. Where do I need to go to complete my enrollment? To the department of Student Services, located in the Rectoría building 3. If I paid for enrollment but didn’t turn in my documents, can I enroll another day? -Yes, whenever enrollment is open. 4. Can I pay my enrollment fee in the university’s payment booth? -Yes 5. Where can I legalize my high school diploma? -In the office of legalizations in the General Office of Legal Services of the Secretary of the State of Guanajuato, located at Juan Valle number 20, 1st floor Zona Centro, Guanjuato, GTO. If I am from another state and have an old version of my birth certificate, can I still enroll? -Yes, but you need to sign a letter promising that you will turn in an updated version of your birth certificate. 8. Can I change my major? -Yes, during the first weeks of the quarter you can change your major. 9. If I am affiliated with IMSS for high school, when I graduate will my benefits continue? -No, every institution is responsible for benefits, and UTSOE will give you benefits as a new student. Admission for Ingenierías/Bachelor’s degree General Questions 1. What TSU/Associate´s degree majors at UTSOE continue into Ingeniería/Bachelor’s degree programs? -Accounting, Fashion and Design, Business Development, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Mechanics, Food Processes, Information and Communication Technologies, Sustainable Agriculture 2. If I studied Information and Communications Technologies in another university, can I apply for a Bachelor’s/Ingeniería in Information and Communications Technologies at UTSOE? -Yes, as long as you meet the requirements. 3. Can I do a Bachelor´s degree/Ingeniería in a major different than the one I did my TSU in? -No. You can only do it in the area you did TSU in. Schedules 1. What schedule options are there? -You can study your Bachelor´s degree/Licenciatura in two schedules: -Morning -Intensive Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoon classes 2. Can I choose to either study during the week or to study on weekends? -No, the schedule has only two options: Monday-Friday mornings, or Thursday-Saturday afternoons. 3. Once I have enrolled in the program, can I accommodate my classes to my own preferred schedule? -No. You have to stick to the schedules provided. Admissions 1. What are the requirements for registering for the Bachelor’s degree/Ingeniería program? -Birth certificate (copy) -CURP or official identification (2 copies) -High school diploma/certificate (copy) -TSU certificate (copy) -Professional exam (copy) -Professional identification (copy) -Proof of social service (copy) -Photos (3 small photos, black & white) -Registration payment 2. Does that means I am enrolled? -No. The application for admissions is just the first step and is not the confirmation of your enrollment. 2. The payment for enrollment is per quarter or monthly? -The payment is $1700 pesos and is paid every quarter.
