If accounts are paid after the tenth of the month, there will be a $10.00 late fee applied to the account balance. There is a $25.00 returned check charge for any checks returned by the bank. Tuition is based on a flat fee for the year billed in four week sessions, not the number of classes per month. We do not prorate months for missed days, holidays or school vacations. There is an annual $25.00 registration fee per student due upon registration. Payments may be made by cash or check. Please review our studio policies. Class Placement: All placement decisions by the instructor are based on class participation, attendance, progress, ability, and consistency. It is not unusual to remain in the same level for more than one year. Each student has a rate at which they will progress physically and mentally. Please respect the instructor’s knowledge of where your child should be placed in each year of their dance training. A student who is placed in a class that is too difficult or a level that is not appropriate to their working ability will lose interest in their development as a dancer or hold the class back from progressing. The directors and instructors of The Galletta School of Dance and Performing Arts want to further your child’s training as a dancer and want them to enjoy dance for many years. Parents may request a conference to discuss student progress. Appropriate Attire *Upon entering the studio all students must have hair in a bun and dressed in appropriate class attire (*see Parent Handbook for list of appropriate dancewear). Class Attire can be purchased @ www.discountdance.com Discount code TP30294 Classroom Rules All students are expected to uphold all classroom rules at all times. For a complete list of rules, please see your handbook. Attendance and Participation Tardiness: Dancers are expected to be on time for class with hair done & shoes on when they enter the classroom. Important warm-ups are missed if a student is late, and injuries could result. If a student is more than 15 minutes late, the student must ask permission to join the class and may sit and observe the rest of the class but will not be allowed to take class. Students are expected to be ready for their lessons. This means a student is expected to arrive, warm up and stretch at least 10 to 15 minutes before a lesson or rehearsal begins. This transition period assists in one’s focus and physical well-being. ***Continued Other Side*** Absences/Make-Up Classes: Students need to call the studio at (360)779-1122 to let their teacher know if they are going to miss class. You are expected to make up any missed classes within 4 weeks of the missed class. You may take a make-up class at your level or lower. Any other options must be discussed with the instructor. We do not give credit towards tuition for missed classes. As the Spring Production approaches, make-up classes may not be available, as every class time is devoted to production choreography. Class Cancellations: Dance classes will follow the North Kitsap School District cancellations due to inclement weather. If cancellation is necessary, a message will be left on the answering machine, website, and an email will be sent. The studio will provide make-up classes for all class cancellations. Add/Drop Classes: Dancers must complete an Add/Drop form in order to make any changes to their original dance schedule. Forms are available at the front desk. Your “drop date” will be effective on the 1st of the following month. In order to drop a class, you must turn in a Drop form no later than the 15th of the month prior to your drop date to avoid being charged another month (i.e. drop no later than October 15 to be effective November 1). There are no refunds to your Automatic Monthly tuition if the Drop request is not received 15 days prior to your drop date. Add/Drops made by phone will not be accepted.. Students wishing to add/drop/change a class must first confirm with the Front Desk staff regarding availability and get instructor approval. A parent may email a detailed Add/Drop request to gallettadance@hotmail.com in which case you will receive an official email reply from us letting you know that we have received your email and that your drop request has been processed. All Registration Fees and Monthly Tuition are non-refundable. Class Observation NO visitors/parents are allowed inside the classroom during class time. Parents are prohibited from entering a class in progress. If your child needs to be removed from class early, please inform the teacher prior to class. If an emergency arises, please inform the front desk, and they will quietly bring your child to you. If you have other concerns please ask the front desk to pass a note onto the teacher and they will meet with you while on break, or after class. During the dance year, The Galletta School of Dance and Performing Arts will have parent’s week(s), which is a perfect time to view your child’s progress. Please refrain from standing in front of the classroom door, standing in an open classroom doorway, or peeking through the door windows during class. For safety reasons, the doors must remain unobstructed at all times to allow clear access to and from the classroom. Pick-Up Parents please be prompt to pick your children up at the end of class. Teachers tend to have classes back to back, and we cannot baby-sit students. If they must wait, have them prepared ahead of time with some work to keep them occupied. The studio will not stay open more than 10 minutes after the last class of the evening. It is mandatory for all dancers to stay inside the building until their ride arrives. Performance/Costume Fees Spring Performance: The entire studio participates in our Spring production. Costume Fees vary according to each individual class and will be due by Jan. 15, 2014. Performance Fee is $65.00per student and due by March 1, 2014. Performance fees help offset costs for the venue, ticket printing, backdrops, sets, lighting, and advertising related to the spring show. Each paid performance fee includes 1 admission ticket to the show. If you wish to pay installments, you may do so; however, we need postdated checks to ensure costumes get ordered on time. There will be no refunds for costumes once ordered. All accounts must be up to date prior to performances, or your dancer will not be able to participate in the spring performance.
