Population Diagnoses: Developmental Disorders/Autism Spectrum Character/Behavior Disorder Affective Disorder Ethnic-Racial Mix (approximate percentages): Caucasian – 47% Latino – 24% Asian – 9% DIRECT/INDIRECT SERVICES Students will perform intake assessments (which include diagnostic testing) that determine entry to the program. They will also provide up to three different manualized individual and group treatment to children and their parents for a range of 16-32 weeks. Students will also be provided with an opportunity to conduct school playground observations of children using a research-supported standardized protocol. Related to the Direct services described above, students will also provide periodic consultation services to participants’ schools and extracurricular programs. SUPERVISION AND TRAINING Student will receive training in delivering a manualized, evidence-based cognitivebehavioral intervention that focuses on treating emotion regulation, adaptive functioning, UCLA COG BEHAVIORAL THERAPY FOR AUTISM PROGRAM PAGE TWO and social skill deficits in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The student will also receive training in diagnostic assessment of ASD. Students will receive training in suicidal intent, homicidal intent, abuse and neglect reporting, as well as ensuring safety of clients in sessions. Standard positive behavioral support programs are embedded within all aspects of clinical contact.
