181 30 октября 15 Books from Russia in the United Arab Emirates On November 4 – 14th, 2015 in Sharjah of the United Arab Emirates the 34th Sharjah International Book Fair will take place where the book exposition and event program “Books from Russia” will be presented. The Russian participation was arranged by the General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs supported by the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation. During the last year Sharjah International Book Fair the stand “Books from Russia” was of great interest of visitors. And this time as well the organizers are going to provide for the exposition all the diversity of the contemporary Russian book world: the Russian classics, children’s and historical-biographical literature, books on science and educational literature, and as well to invite all interested guests to discuss the issues of the Russian-Arabic cultural relations. The special expositions dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Caucasian nations’ literature are planning to be presented. . On November 5, 2015 at 17.00 Sergey Kaykin, the Head of the General Directorate of International Book Exhibitions and Fairs for the first time in Sharjah will make a presentation of the St.-Petersburg Book Salon and as well the Moscow International book Fair will be presented. The program of the Russian participation is focused around the issue of the Russian literature translations from the Russian language into the Arabic language. On November, 5 at 19:00 Dr. Haba Abdulla Hassan, a well-known translator from the Russian language into the Arabic language educated and has been living in Russia more than 50 years, will present his new translations of M.Bulgakov’s works, such as “Rokovye yaytsa” (Fatal Eggs), “Sobachye serdtse” (A Dog’s Heart), “Zapiski yunogo vracha” ( The Notes of a Young Doctor), as well as the stories of A.S.Pushkin. On the examples of these works he will depict the difficulties of the Russian literature translations. The discussion on this issue will be continued at the round table “ The Crisis of Translations” which will be held on November, 6 at 20:00 with the participation of Maksim Amelin. A new Russian language textbook for the Arabic language speakers is being prepared for publishing. On November, 4 at 19:00 this methodology will be presented by Aiman Kanafani, the textbook author, Dmitry Petrov’s Center of Innovational-Communicative Linguistic Center employee. As well on November, 6 at 17:00 he will conduct the Russian language lesson. The issues of the love for reading instilling in children common for the people of different countries and cultures will be covered on November, 5 at 15:00 on the lecture “How the Authors of the Classical Literature Write for the Children and How to Instill Skills of the Book Culture” by Maksim Amelin, a poet and publisher. As well Maksim Amelin would like to see all amateurs of poetry, poets and philologists on November, 6 at 18:00 on the lecture “The Basic Principles of the Poetic Anthology Compilation”. _________________ By preliminary estimation this year the Sharjah International Book Fair broke all records in the number of book titles. The Fair exposition will be consisted of 1.5 mln book titles in 210 languages and more than 500 publishers of 64 world countries including Russia. This year for the first time such countries as Poland, Peru, Ghana, Albania, Argentina, Bulgaria, Makedonia, Mongolia, Serbia will participate. The Fair is being held under the generous patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and from year to year it becomes more popular and plays the key role in the UAE intercultural communication.
