Book Project #1
Date Due: Tuesday, October 28, 2014
Situation: How many times have you been asked to choose a book and you did
so based on the artwork on the cover or the size of it? Many people do judge a
book by its cover.
Your Task:
 You will complete a double-sided book analysis sheet.
 You will then design and create a new cover for the novel you read.
 You must also write a one-paragraph (at least 5 to 6 sentences) summary of
the book that will hook other students into reading this book.
Guidelines:
Be sure to:
 Create a new cover for the novel read on 8 1/2" x 11" (regular sized) paper
folded in half. You may not ask Mrs. Roldan or Ms. Damiano to help you
draw it.
 Include the title and author of the novel on the cover.
 Write (or type) and then tape a one-paragraph advertisement that will get
others interested in reading this book to the inside of your new cover.
