V a c a n c y Service Owner – Unified Communications and Networks Main purpose of the job The Service Owner: Will be accountable for the successful delivery of all communications platforms into the Wits RHI environment, this includes, but is not limited to, Firewalls, Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Exchange, Google Mail, Video Conferencing and the entire network environment. Networks are an outsourced service, thus it is critical that requirements against network performance are constantly matched and that 3rd party suppliers are managed via SLA. Accountable for network performance in its entirety Accountable for MS Outlook and Exchange uptime Accountable for the successful implementation and delivery of all video conferencing facilities Responsible for the assurance that all networking is delivered in line with the organisation’s security requirements Responsible for a well-delivered and managed instant messaging environment Vendor management and contracting Location Hugh Solomon Building, Hillbrow Key performance areas Financial o Manage and deliver all projects on time, within budget and without compromising on technology o Manage all suppliers in line with the organisational requirements to ensure network efficiency and cost containment o Standardise the appropriate technologies in order to limit wastage of resources Customer o Ensure the best possible uptime of networks against the user community’s requirements o Establish and deliver against SLA’s contracted with the organisation in line with usage requirements o Establish and manage Operating Level Agreements with suppliers o Ensure user satisfaction with all technologies o Ensure user training to encourage effective use of unified communication platforms o Network monitoring in line with governance and data usage restrictions V a c a n c y Learning and Growth o Constant self-learning in terms of the said portfolio in order to ensure that the organisation always has the most-up-to date technologies and thought leadership Process o Constant adherence to the outlined processes that govern and conduct change Change (Change Advisory Board) o Attending all process designed meetings for reporting and change purposes o Recording and managing all change requirements from the organisation in order to present the required changes at CAB meetings Technical impact Business impact Cost Business value driving the requirement for the change Required minimum education and training Grade 12 MCSE or CCNP Practitioner Required minimum work experience Minimum 3 years’ work experience in information technology and general business management Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities ITIL certification COBIT certification TOGAF Self-motivated individual who is passionate about service delivery Demands of the job National travel as well as work over weekends and outside of business hours will be required from time to time Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment V a c a n c y Should you be interested in applying for this vacancy, clearly state which vacancy you are applying for and forward your detailed CV to: Brett Crighton on bcrighton@wrhi.ac.za.
