Wales Dance Platform 2014 will present 37 independent dance artists in performances, films and exhibitions on 27, 28 and 29 June in three venues: Wales Millennium Centre
(Weston), Chapter and Sherman Cymru. The Production/Technical Manager (PTM) should be familiar with those venues and enthusiastic about forming good working relationships between each theatre’s technical departments on behalf of the Platform.
The PTM will work closely with the Creu Cymru team of Director, two Creative Producers and Administrator, to liaise with the three technical departments to co-ordinate and allocate the physical and technical resources across the whole three-day Platform. Under the direction of Creu Cymru, the PTM will also co-ordinate the needs of all choreographers and presenting artists.
The contract is part-time from 1 May on a negotiated basis, but is expected to become fulltime for the two weeks leading up to and including the Platform.
The inclusive fee is £2.5k. The role includes:
Understanding and following the brief as set out by the Creu Cymru team
Representing the Platform’s management team in a variety of professional and public settings
Advising on allocation of all technical and staffing resources and how they are best deployed
Liaising with the three venues’ technical departments
Liaising with (and advise) choreographers and other presenting artists (film and photography) to ensure their technical and production requirements are possible, understood and agreed
Arranging for each theatre to draw up lighting plans, advising and guiding as appropriate
Drawing up technical and performance schedules
