1846. His wife's name is believed to have been Jane. The family
lived in Washington County PA, Russell County VA and Pike County Ky
before coming to Roane County VA (WV) about 1840.

John King, a son of Sam and Jane King, was born in Washington
County PA January 4, 1797. He lived in Russell County VA and in Pike
County Ky before coming to Roane County WV about 1840. John married
Margaret Charles in Virginia or Kentucky and they had six children.
Margaret probably died in Kentucky, because she did not come to Roane
County with the rest of the family. John married Julia Ann Drake in
Roane County June 15, 1857. Julia, a daughter of Clarissa Drake, was
born April 1, 1835.

1800 and died in roane County VA (WV) April 22, 1855. He married Mary
Hamilton. Mary was born in Ky about 1805 and died in Roane County VA
(WV) in 1837.
The couple came to present day Roane County WV in late 1834 and
settled near present day Newton, WV.

George W. King, a son of John and Margaret (Charles) King, was
born in Pike County Kentucky in March 1825. He married Priscilla
Rhoda Drake about 1850. Priscilla, a daughter of Michael and Lucy
(Hunt) Drake, was born about 1830 and died in Roane County in 1865.
The family settled on Canoe Creek of Henry's Fork in that part of
Kanawha County VA that was to become present day Roane County WV.

(Drake) King, was born December 10, 1853 in Kanawha County VA and
died at Dog Creek, Roane County WV April 12, 1912. He married
Lovernia Starcher December 28, 1876 in Roane County, WV. Lovernia, a
daughter of Josiah Paine and Nancy Jane (Nichols) Starcher, was born
in Calhoun County VA (WV) February 15, 1858 and died in Roane County
WV January 11, 1940.

19, 1913. He married Pruda Forrest Carper February 14, 1904. Pruda,

Roane County WV April 14, 1886 and died there March 18, 1976.
Pruda married Henry Naylor and was later divorced.
