Meeting called to order by President Linda Eliasonat 7:00 pm
President’s Report
 We had our first PTA workshop last week – it went really well and we are
getting better organized moving forward.
o We will also be working to help committee chairs with upcoming
events and help teacher with projects. Melisa Sigurdson will have a
Black Bin set up where teachers can leave items that they need help
with (laminating, cutting out, etc)
Treasurer Report
 Copy of the budget handed out by Dawn. Nothing new to report
 Pay Pall Discussion – Andy Piccioni
o 2.2% plus 30cent per transaction
o Website Options it $12.99per Month
o Discussion – Open to the Membership
o Motion from the floor to have the Dawn and Kathy set up an account
and review Pay Pall so it could be set up for access next year!
The
motion was seconded and passed by a unanimous vote.
Membership
 We are hoping to have a membership Table at Every Event held at the school.
We are always looking for volunteers to help staff membership tables.
 The Fillable Form membership form is located on the Beartooth website
under the PTA tab. It makes it easy for people to fill out the form.
 We continue to use Facebook and the Website to communicate with the
membership.
 The minutes from the August meeting were reviewed and approved.
Principal’s Report
 Open House – Title 1 Meeting is next Tuesday. Mrs. McCallencouraged
everyone to attend the Title 1meeting to learn what these funds are used for
in our school
 We are the biggest elementary school in Billings!
 The school will have an Evacuation Drill on September 25th



o Primary Evacuation Site – LDS Church on Wicks
Sept 25th – Teachers will start the training for Project Lead the Way.
Tears of Joy – The Ravens Story – Puppetry Show will be on October 1st
Picture Day is the 21st
Saturday Live
 Sign Up Sheet for Volunteers – It will be at the front desk. We are still
looking for lots of volunteers to man this event booth
 Contact LindseyMcGimpseywith any questions
 Dawn Kaufman will be selling tickets in the morning starting on the 22nd
 Mandy Burrows advised she may be able to get us some volunteers from Old
Navy to help fill their volunteer hours
 Ticket Prices: 2 for $1, 10 for $5
 Prizes available for the school with the most ticket sales
Fall Fundraiser – Dawn and Laurel
 Kick Off Assembly is the 15th of October at 9 am
 We are doing two brochures – Fall Inspire and Remember Me Studio
 Due date for orders will be October 23rd
 Gina from Great American Fundraising will create a parent letter with all the
details
 How are we going to award prizes for top sellers / classes
o The committee will decide on prizes for sales – but an option noted
would be to limit number of prizes to 3 for primary grades and 3 for
intermediate grades

Monster Mash – October 30th at 6 pm (Dawn & Heather)
 Laurel will help Dawn review music to make sure it is appropriate
 The biggest concern from the membership is how are we going to control the
crowd and make is enjoyable for all ages
 Are we going to do the Trick or Treating??
 Discussion on splitting the vent between the primary and intermediate
grades in different areas of the school
Fall Open House – Tuesday, September 16th
 Title One Meeting at 5:30 – we suggest everyone attends this meeting
 The Heights Dairy Queen has provided four cases of Dilly Bars for $75.
Angie will pick them up on Saturday and will be bringing them in on Monday
 Membership Table – with Dilly Bars – we need volunteers to help staff this
table
 Build a Bear has also donated a bear – they will be unable to have an
employee so PTA members will also need to volunteers to help staff this table

Year Books will be sold during this event. The more pre-sales the better.
At $14 apiece. We will also be selling books the remaining from last year
New Business
Unfinished Business
 Laurel Struck – Fleece Vests for PTA Board and members
 Cheapest options – apx $20 with embroidery plus shipping
 Another option - $30 provides higher quality fleece
 3rd Option - $35 even higher quality fleece
o Used for PTA board members and other volunteers
o We get a break with we order 12 or more (about $5 per item)
o We can open it up to members to order one as well
o Shipping Time: Two weeks
o Order Deadline – Friday October 10th
o Dawn Motions that we order the 7 vests (amount in the budget for
these items) with orders open to membership; the motion is
seconded, and passed unanimously.


Work Meetings will be the first Tuesday of the month
PTA meetings will be the second Tuesday of the month

Updating the Standing Rules – Kristin Introduced Changes.
o Board Members Serve 2 years terms
o General Meeting in April to vote on the new board vs. May so they
have a chance to meet with the outgoing board.
o Motion from the floor to approve the changes, the motion was
seconded, and passed unanimously
