Bucklands Beach AFC - Elite and Skill Development Programme Head Coach Job Description Job Title: Head Coach Elite 15th Grade Boys / Skill Development Coach Reports to: Junior & Youth Director of Coaching Status: 28 Week contractual agreement (1/3/2016 - 10/9/2016) Salary: Competitive rate of pay dependent on qualifications and experience Commitment: 11.5 Hours per week Monday - 4pm to 8pm Tuesday - 5:30pm to 7pm Wednesday - 4pm to 7pm Thursday - 6pm to 7pm Sunday - Game day There is an element of voluntary work required within this post. There is a requirement that coaches will attend 14x 3hr BBAFC Coaches Workshops on a voluntary basis as part of their Personal Development. Planning is a key element of this role and coaching staff will be asked to submit session plans under the agreed formats and timeframes. Roles & Responsibilities: In liaison with the Junior & Youth Director of Coaching, The Head Coach Elite 15th Grade Boys / Skill Development Coach will be responsible for the planning, implementation and delivery of one training session per week with the 15th Grade Boys Metro team and two sessions per week with eight groups in the Skill Development Programme. The Coach may also be allocated Assistant Coaches to work alongside them during the scheduled period. Duties include: Lead in the planning and delivery of the Elite 15th Grade Boys training sessions and Skill Development Programme sessions as guided by the BBAFC Curriculum; Lad in the evaluating and monitoring of player progress in all areas of player development including the completion of player progress reports and player - parent - coach meetings twice a year under the agreed timelines set by J&YDOC. Manage the Elite 15th Grade Boys team on match days (Two hours a week allocated to match days. Coach required to be present minimum 45 minutes prior to commencement of match.) Close liaison with the GK coach and conditioning coach for each session (if applicable) Take responsibility and ownership of all equipment and apparel from BBAFC. Required Experience & Qualifications Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience: Minimum of two years’ experience coaching within a youth development environment Minimum of NZF Youth Level 3 or Level 2 and willing to go on Youth Level 3 ASAP, overseas qualifications will be considered. Experience in leadership and management of players and a group of staff. Required Skills: Successful applicants will demonstrate and excel in the following fields; Delivery, execution and planning of high level coaching sessions. Leadership – leading positively by example (role model to players). Communication – effectively communicate to all parties associated to the programme including players, parents and coaches. Building effective working relationships – work successfully with others and show an ability to build and continue effective relationships with others Management – be seen as an effective leader of players and people with a proven track record to show. At a personal level, the successful applicant will have demonstrated a strong awareness of world’s best practice in coaching, and have shown a desire to achieve excellence in all areas, through continual personal development.
