TRAINING OR RESEARCH ACTIVITY
As a PhD student, I am responsible for working towards the completion of my degree program,
particularly resulting in the final PhD dissertation (title: No more waiting for Godot – The Italian
parliament vis-à-vis the European economic governance: debating programmatic documents from
the Lisbon strategy to Europe 2020 (2001-2014); methodology: computer-assisted (relevant
softwares: Atlas.ti/Excel/STATA) analysis of parliamentary debates; claims-making analysis;
Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Sabrina Cavatorto)
The graduate school I am enrolled in offers all the teaching in English. Among the main
courses, "Comparative Political Institutions“, Prof. Blondel and Prof. Verzichelli; "Modern
Political Analysis", Prof. Cotta; "Introduction to Political Research“, Prof. Isernia. I have
also attended courses in Quantitative methods (with STATA, Dr. Smets), Bayesian methods
(with R packages, general intro, Dr. Prof. Steenbergen), Qualitative Comparative Analyis
(general intro, Dr. Prof. Wagemann) and Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis
(with Atlas.ti, Dr. Duchesne); intensive Atlas.ti training (including a web conferencing
workshop, 24-26 Sept 2014, Dr. Contreras)
I also collaborate with LAPS (Laboratorio di Analisi Politiche e Sociali, Social and Political
Sciences Lab)– www.laps.unisi.it: political and social surveys & data analysis
As a teaching Assistant (cultore della materia) in EU Politics (prof. Cavatorto) and
Methodology of Social Research (Metodologia della ricerca sociale, prof. Paolo Bellucci),
I have teaching duties and I constantly try to effectively contribute to the enhancement
of the students’ success.
