STORAGE AGREEMENT FORM

The university does not provide storage in designated storage areas for student’s personal property due to limited space availability. Students requesting storage for large items or for property they would like to leave over the summer or between summer sessions are encouraged to seek off campus accommodations.

Students are allowed to leave personal property in rooms/apartments/houses based on the following:

The space is assigned to them and they are leaving for a holiday period during the academic year, including the

Christmas break, and are returning to that same room/apartment/house.

The student has signed this storage agreement form and submitted it to a staff member as instructed.

The student has complied with all instructions from staff about check out for the holiday period.

The student will be responsible for removing all belongings at least one week prior to the beginning of the next semester if he/she does not return to campus housing.

It is preferable for student to personally remove their belongings, but in a case where it is necessary to pack and ship any belongings, the student will be responsible for all associated costs.

If belongings are not removed in a timely way, the university Abandoned Property Policy will be followed (See

Student Handbook ).

Summer Storage:

Residents cannot store personal property for a roommate.

The only exceptions made to this rule are for items shared by roommates and used by both when the roommate is staying for the summer. Examples would be a TV or shared furniture in the main living area or kitchen items that are shared.

If items are left by a resident because they have a shared use, the resident leaving the items will be expected to sign this Storage Agreement Form acknowledging they are leaving the items for the use of their roommate and that the university is not responsible for those items.

If the roommate is required to move during the summer for any reason, he/she will be responsible for the care and removal of those shared items.

Signing this Storage Agreement Form will serve as notice that the student understands the risks involved in leaving personal property behind on-campus and unattended, and acknowledges that despite safety precautions, damages and theft could occur to the property and it is understood that the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor does not guarantee the safety or security of student personal property. In addition, the student understands that the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor does not provide property insurance for personal property at any time, and the student accepts full responsibility for all costs due to any damages or theft that may occur to the property. Furthermore, in consideration of the opportunity afforded, with full knowledge and acceptance of the risks associated with leaving personal property on-campus, the student hereby releases the University of Mary Hardin-

Baylor, its faculty, staff, trustees, officers, and agents from all form and manner of risks inherent and waive all claims and demands of any nature arising from said storage, transportation, damage or theft of personal property .

I AGREE TO ABIDE BY THIS AGREEMENT AND TO FULFILL ALL OF MY OBLIGATIONS AS OUTLINED ABOVE:
